PRE-INSTALLATION:

1. Determine correct model for the cubic feet of enclosure (see chart).
2. All installations and service must be performed by a qualified electrician and/or plumber and conform to all local and national codes.
3. Check that electrical power supply available is adequate for the voltage, amps and phase of the unit.
4. Carton contains (1) steam generator, (1) chrome steamhead & escutcheon, (1) standard 60 minute digital timer with foam gasket, 2x4 Timer Overlay w/2 screws, (1) Tube Silicone and (1) 25' Modular Telephone cable.
5. Do not expose steam generator to outside weather conditions or freezing temperatures.
6. For best results, steam generator must be higher than the steamhead. If this is not possible, steam line must slope 1/4" per foot minimum to unit.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION OR RENOVATION:

1. Ceiling should be pitched away from the door 1 1/2" per foot or constructed in a gable configuration.
2. Enclosures should not be vapor proof. A slight opening of approximately 1/4" is desired to create movement of the steam.
3. Any exposed plaster, plaster-board or sheet rock surfaces must be well sealed with a commercial quality waterproof sealer.
4. Do not use greenboard, use cement board.
5. Do not install fan inside steam bath enclosure.
6. If using lights inside steambath, they must be vapor proof.

INSTALLATION:

1. Place the unit in a location (attic, vanity, closet, etc) so that it is accessible and not more than 40' from enclosure. ALL steam units require maintenance.
2. Install in upright and level position.
IMPORTANT: Steam Generator should never be located where it is exposed to outside weather conditions or freezing temperatures or where owner cannot gain access to Water Level Probe for maintenance.

PLUMBING:

IMPORTANT: All plumbing should be done be a qualified plumber. Do not place a shut-off valve on steam line. Do not use plumbers putty on any water connections.
1. Tap off any existing water supply line. Flush at least 1 gallon of water to clear line and connect 1/4" compression water inlet fitting (A) on unit. When tightening the fitting, use two wrenches to avoid strain on the fitting (A) and solenoid valve (inside unit). Install a shut-off valve (B) on copper supply line as close to unit as possible. Do not use a saddle fitting.
2. Connect 1/2" copper tubing or 1/2" NPT pipe to steam outlet (C) and run to approximately 8" to 12" off finished floor in shower or just above deck of bathtub on any wall not interfering with user. A union may be installed close to the unit to facilitate easy removal if necessary. Avoid valleys and dips where water from steam condensation in the line could collect and cause blockage. Leave approximately 1/2" of threads protruding from finished wall. Place escutcheon on threads and screw on steamhead (D). Rotate steamhead until open slot is facing down.
3. Connect 3/4" copper tubing or NPT pipe to pressure relief valve (E) and 1/2" copper tubing or NPT pipe if using an optional blowdown (F). Both of these items must be installed with a union and plumbed to drain to an approved location.

ELECTRIC:

IMPORTANT: All wiring should be done by a qualified electrican and must conform to all local and national codes.
1. Supply wiring should be sized in accordance with the voltage, amps and phase of the unit (see electrical rating on identification label) and suitable for 90°c. A separate circuit breaker (see chart) should be provided. Bring incoming electrical supply wires to L1 and L2 and the ground to the ground terminal.
2. Timer (G) may be installed inside or outside enclosure. From the unit, run modular telephone cable (supplied by factory) and connect to phone jack on timer. DO NOT STAPLE TELEPHONE CORD.
3. Install a power disconnect near unit.
4. If unit is a 3 phase, bring incoming supply wire to L1, L2 and L3 and the ground to the ground terminal.
Note: If using a Deluxe Timer & Thermostat, it must be installed inside steam room except when using remote probe thermostat.

START-UP:

1. After connections are completed, make sure power and water are on by looking through the cutout on drop panel.
2. Turn on timer and allow sufficient time for unit to react.Green light "on" verifies electrical power. Red light will remain "on" until water reaches proper level.
3. Timer can be turned off manually before time has elapsed.
